PharmSaver At The 2022 NCPA Annual Conference!

Recently the PharmSaver Team rallied together to prep for Hurricane Ian. Thankfully we braved the storm well here in the Tampa Bay area and came out of it unscathed and with just enough time to see off Phil Idziak and Zack Idziak, our CIO and Financial Analyst and programmer. They made their way to Kansas City, MO for NCPA's 2022 Annual Conference.

They had the chance to say hi to some of you in person and to meet some new folks that are joining our community. If you didn't get the chance to make it out, no worries. We know how busy you are. We'll see you at the next one or you're welcome to give us a call. If you didn't have a chance to chat but you'd like to know more about us, reach out to us by clicking  Contact Us. We'd love to hear from you! Ask us about how for the last decade our platform has been saving thousands of pharmacies time and money.

PharmSaver Can Help You With Primary Contract Compliance

Pharmsaver was expertly designed to be a companion busy pharmacies can always rely on. We not only offer a streamlined and efficient way to purchase products from multiple secondary wholesalers in one place, but we do so in a way that helps you honor your agreements with your primary. We understand that keeping track of your contract parameters and rebates can be challenging, especially when ordering from multiple places. So, take a look at these tips for how to stay on top of your contract compliance with ease.

In your My Account dropdown follow the link for the Manage Account section. On this page, you’re probably very familiar with all the demographic info at the top, but the parts we need to focus on are the Primary Wholesaler Information, Pharmacy Best Price Ordering, and Budget and Cart Checkout Control sections. These areas provide you with all the control you will need to make PharmSaver work for you to ensure you are purchasing within the parameters you need to. When you use PharmSavers money-saving features like PO Upload, EZ Entry, and Quick Cart the selections you make here will be utilized to determine what drugs will be worthwhile purchases for you to consider and will be put in your secondary carts. Only drugs that meet your criteria will make the cut.

Primary Wholesaler Information
Including information about what rebates and discounts you receive from your primary wholesaler ensures that the drugs selected from secondary wholesalers are ones that you will save on.

Pharmacy Best Price Ordering

This section really gives you the most control. Match your items by NDC, GPI, or a combination; choose how discounted you want your brands and/or generics to be; set reimbursement alerts; and put limits in place for short-date opportunities.

Budget and Cart Checkout Control

In this portion, you can control how much your pharmacy spends. We give you the ability to set monthly order limits, total cart limits, and item price limits. This feature can be very useful when you are trying to make sure to meet your contract parameters for your primary.

The next thing you’ll want to take a look at is all of the incredible cart optimization features we have. They are going to alert you to many different savings opportunities, but they will also notify you of any potential negative reimbursements. You will find that if you do a PO Upload and an item did not meet your settings it will go into a cart for your primary. It’s a good idea to review those items before reuploading them because you might find that there is a flag on one showing the potential for huge savings if you switched your NDC or package size. Don't get stuck in the habit of ordering the same NDCs. Rebated generics change. So, keep an eye out for the green links like this 95.11% savings for Fenofibrate! And this NDC in their primary cart has a reimbursement flag. It’s definitely worth considering.

Lastly, keeping tabs on what you spend is a must. We’ve got you covered. You'll find your Reports link on your toolbar and in your activity center. Four of our recommended reports to check out for monitoring and increasing sales are PharmSaver Savings, Generic Contract Compliance, Preferred Drug Savings, and Price Increase. You can set the date ranges you need for each and export them in multiple formats.
